Actually, in this wave of AI, the large-scale construction of AI data centers is also driving a continuous surge in the demand for underlying copper resources. Transformers, power distribution systems, high-voltage cables, cooling systems, grid expansion—all of these require copper. A large AI data center could even consume tens of thousands of tons of copper!

Although Jensen Huang mentioned that copper wiring might be replaced with optical communication later, that only pertains to data center communication transmission layers. Many electrical components inside still require a large amount of copper.
Moreover, upgrades to the power grid system currently demand a lot of copper. The resources are scarce, and there’s no quick way to expand production.
Therefore, the next layer of pursuit might not be CPO, optical communication, or energy, but solid resource layers.
