In rural China, if you've attended a funeral, you'll realize that,

Anyone's death, except for their children, won't affect anyone's mood.
People attending the funeral will lively play cards, joke around, and compete in drinking.
Even if the deceased is eighty or ninety years old, or bedridden for a long time,
Even your children won't feel much grief; instead, there's a sense of relief and release.
So, it can be said that, while you're alive, not many people pay attention to you, and when you pass away, it won't cause much concern.
If you live timidly, afraid of hurting this person or offending that one, always considering others and rarely thinking of yourself,
Thinking about a day when you die, and imagining relatives, friends, and colleagues laughing and joking, makes you realize that taking care of your own emotions and interests is too important.
Coming into this world is for yourself; as long as you don't harm others or owe favors,
Living a somewhat selfish life isn't wrong.
