The enameled wire industry’s startup rate decreased month-over-month; the downward trend is expected to continue into June.

According to SMM, in May, due to multiple factors such as the disruption caused by the Labor Day holiday, weak demand for home appliances, and high copper prices, the enamelled wire industry’s operating rate decreased by 3 percentage points month-on-month.
By the end of the month, the market had already shown signs of weak orders and rising inventories, and the end-of-season slowdown continued in June.
Coupled with the disturbance of high copper prices affecting market purchasing sentiment, companies actively reduced production and scaled back output at the beginning of the month to digest accumulated inventories.
SMM expects the operating rate of the enamelled wire industry to continue declining in June.
