Gold Finance reports that on June 10th, local time Tuesday, Anthropic released a public version of its Mythos model, but with restrictions that prohibit its use in high-risk areas such as cybersecurity. Anthropic stated that the new Claude Fable 5 is the most powerful model Anthropic has developed so far for broader applications, and praised its performance in software engineering and data analysis. Previously, Anthropic announced that Mythos had discovered thousands of software vulnerabilities, and since then, the company has limited the model's usage to approximately 200 organizations, including the U.S. government, through the "Glasswing" program. Anthropic said it has conducted extensive testing to ensure users cannot manipulate Claude Fable 5 to bypass its guidelines and perform restricted operations. Dianne Penn, head of product management, research, and labs at Anthropic, stated that based on early customer feedback, although Fable 5 is more expensive, it consumes fewer tokens to perform tasks, thereby reducing the overall cost per task. Anthropic also said that users with access to the Claude Mythos preview version (i.e., the version without security safeguards) will be able to upgrade to the brand-new Claude Mythos 5. The pricing for both models is $10 per million input tokens and $50 per million output tokens.
