Abstract generation in progress
Alibaba Group’s subsidiary AutoNavi (AMap) has officially released the world’s first native 3D city world model, ABot-Earth0.5. The model has been built into the largest 3D map coverage globally, spanning more than 190 countries and regions. The model outputs editable 3DGS-format materials that can be directly imported into mainstream engines such as Unity and Unreal Engine for interactive development. According to estimates, the 3D mapping cost of ABot-Earth0.5 is only 1% of traditional methods, while efficiency has increased by about 1,000 times. This breakthrough not only turns high-precision 3D city generation from a “heavy-asset” approach into a “lightweight tool,” but is also expected to provide foundational support for industries such as embodied intelligence and the low-altitude economy. In emergency rescue scenarios, ABot-Earth0.5’s minute-level 3D mapping capability can quickly reconstruct the three-dimensional environment of disaster sites, providing a scientific basis for command and dispatch and giving rescue forces valuable time for deployment. ABot-Earth0.5 has now officially opened for internal testing. Users can go to the official website abot-earth.amap.com to submit a test application and experience the model’s performance in 3D city generation firsthand.
