🎮 Ethereum partly exists because of an update issue in World of Warcraft 🤯

In 2010, Vitalik Buterin, then 16 years old, played a lot of World of Warcraft. One day, Blizzard Entertainment changes his favorite character and removes a skill he loved to use, “Siphon Life.”
Years later, Vitalik would write: “I cried myself to sleep, and that day, I realized what horrors centralized services can bring.”
For him, it was truly a significant event, and he then understood the weakness of a centralized network and suffered the consequences.
Shortly after, his father introduced him to Bitcoin. Too young and without money to invest or mine seriously, Vitalik started writing about the subject and co-founded Bitcoin Magazine at just 17.
He then tried to join Ripple Labs, but visa issues prevented the hiring from materializing.
At 19, Vitalik proposed several improvements to Bitcoin. Some of the community rejected his ideas. Instead of giving up, he wrote his own whitepaper in 2013. This project would become Ethereum.
