Lately I've been looking into IBC, message passing, and other cross-chain technologies. To put it simply, who do you trust when you "cross over" once? The consensus of the chain itself is easy to understand, but the entire process involving the light client/verification, relayers that forward messages, and then the bridge contracts and permissions—any weak link can turn into "I thought the funds had arrived." Sometimes it's not that the technology is too mysterious, but that the trust chain is too long, and you need to be more cautious. Recently, hardware wallets have been out of stock, and phishing links are everywhere. Now I basically avoid any entry points like "cross-chain rewards airdrops," even if it means missing out. Anyway, in this bear market cabin mode... take it slow.

What I fear most isn't missing opportunities, but accidentally losing my safety bottom line due to a slip-up.
