These days, I've been taught a lesson by mainnet gas again... To put it simply, ordinary people shouldn't struggle against themselves: I mostly use L2 for small, frequent transactions to experience smoother performance and avoid worrying about a few dollars' difference; when it comes to large amounts or sensitive interactions involving permissions or contracts, I prefer to go back to the mainnet, even if it's slower and more expensive, just to feel more secure. The compromise is: use L2 for daily tasks as a "work chain"; treat the mainnet as a "settlement chain," batch process periodically, and avoid settling every time on the spot.
By the way, regarding the NFT royalty disputes, it's actually quite similar to chain selection: creators want stable income, traders want liquidity and low friction, and in the end, it all depends on how the rules are implemented and whether people are willing to accept them. Anyway, what I care more about now is whether wallets and bridges can make these compromises more seamless... How do you usually weigh these trade-offs?
