Lately, reading DAO voting proposals has been making my blood pressure soar: on the surface, it says "optimize incentives" "increase participation," but only at the very last line do I realize it's granting permissions to a multi-signature/agent, or just tweaking the voting threshold, and suddenly power is being concentrated back. Honestly, many people are not voting on the "direction," but on someone else's "permission change order," wrapped in a sugar coating.
Now, testing networks are popular for earning points, and every day in the group someone asks "Will the mainnet issue tokens," then proposals just include a "traceability reward/contribution points" as a carrot, and everyone rushes in without reading the details. If you really want to vote, focus on two things: where the money is flowing, and who is given permissions, especially whether upgrades are possible and whether the treasury can be spent freely. Don’t end up participating hard only to find you’re just securing someone else’s more stable seat.
