The Ministry of Commerce responds to the European Commission's discussions on China relations: If the EU insists on unilaterally introducing new trade tools and implementing discriminatory restrictions, China will resolutely counteract.
The Ministry of Commerce states that China and Europe are important economic and trade partners based on equality and mutual benefit, and hopes that the European side will abide by WTO rules, uphold free trade and fair competition, and oppose protectionism and unilateralism.
The communication channels between the two sides are smooth, and they are exploring the establishment of a trade and investment consultation mechanism and conducting dialogues.
It is hoped that both sides will work together, implement the leaders' consensus, resolve differences through dialogue, and promote the stable and healthy development of China-Europe economic and trade relations;
If the European side unilaterally introduces new trade tools and sets discriminatory restrictions, China will resolutely counteract to safeguard its interests.
