Recently, I’ve been seeing a bunch of PFP/member cards talking about “long-term branding,” and honestly, I’m pretty torn. To put it plainly: attention comes fast and goes just as fast. Once you pull the on-chain data and look at it, the pattern is obvious—when it’s hot, one line surges forward; when it cools down, it cuts off very cleanly. If we’re really going to talk about the long term, it probably comes back to “what service/relationship are you actually buying.” Otherwise, it’s just treating the profile picture like a ticket.

By the way, I can also understand the recent complaints from retail investors about miners/validators’ income and unfair MEV ordering… You call for community co-building upfront, but later others jump the line to get the juicy part, and the experience really gets worse. Anyway, I’ve adjusted my goal for now: I’m not chasing the full set, and I’m not hard-pressing on an identity. I’ll just pick one membership benefit that’s genuinely usable, then take it step by step and see how it holds up—I can stick with it longer that way.
