🌍 My Prediction: US-Iran Nuclear Deal Before End Of May?
I’m leaning slightly bullish on the possibility of a short-term agreement, but I still think the probability stays below 50% before the end of May. Trump’s latest comments about negotiations “progressing smoothly” definitely changed market sentiment fast, especially after reports that the US softened its position on uranium enrichment and onsite processing.
That’s a major signal because those issues were some of the biggest roadblocks during previous negotiations. The reopening narrative around the Strait of Hormuz is also important since both sides understand how much global markets react whenever tensions rise in that region.
From a prediction market perspective, this feels like one of those events where headlines can move probabilities aggressively within hours. One positive diplomatic update could trigger a huge sentiment swing, while any military escalation or political disagreement could instantly reverse momentum again.
Personally, I think both sides currently have incentives to reduce pressure temporarily. The US wants regional stability with markets already sensitive to inflation and oil volatility, while Iran benefits from easing geopolitical pressure and economic uncertainty. That’s why I believe negotiations are more active behind the scenes than many people realize.
Still, reaching a complete nuclear agreement within just a few days is a very ambitious timeline. Even if progress is real, final details, verification terms, and political approvals usually take longer than expected. Because of that, my prediction is “No deal before end of May,” but with a much closer probability than markets expected last week.
For trading strategy, I’m watching oil prices, defense stocks, and crypto volatility closely because geopolitical prediction markets often create opportunities across multiple sectors at the same time.
What’s your prediction — breakthrough agreement before May ends, or more delays and negotiations ahead?
