Trump says negotiations with Iran are progressing smoothly, calls for multiple Middle Eastern countries to join the Abraham Accords.
On May 25th, U.S. President Trump posted: "Negotiations with Iran are progressing smoothly! The final outcome will either be a 'great agreement' of immense value to all parties, or 'no agreement at all'—in which case, we will return to the front lines, with gunfire resuming, and the scale and intensity will be greater than ever before—and no one wants to see that!
On Saturday, during talks with leaders from multiple Middle Eastern countries, I clearly stated: given that the United States has made tremendous efforts to piece together this extremely complex 'puzzle,' it is now appropriate to establish a mandatory requirement—that all these countries must at least sign the Abraham Accords simultaneously.
The countries I mentioned include: Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, and Bahrain.
Perhaps one or two of these countries may have legitimate reasons for not signing at this time; we can understand and accept that.
But the vast majority should be prepared, willing, and capable of participating, so that this reconciliation agreement with Iran becomes a more historically significant event than initially anticipated.
Furthermore, if Iran can sign a related agreement with me—that is, the President of the United States—I will be honored and welcome them to join this unparalleled global alliance."
