#Gate广场披萨节

Don't think that Pizza Day only exists in stories; have you ever seen Litecoin at 10 RMB?

Every year on Pizza Day, many seasoned crypto veterans see it as just another ordinary holiday. Some believers might genuinely feel a sense of ritual in eating a pizza, while jokingly mocking the god-like person (sha) who, 14 years ago, bought two slices of pizza with ten thousand coins (big pancakes). But for Little God of Wealth, this is a day of suffering. Every time it comes around, I look at my car keys with a faint pain in my heart. What’s going on? Let’s brew some tea and I’ll tell you the story while we eat two slices of pizza.

I remember it was 2014, during Bitcoin’s first major bear market after the crazy bull run of 2013. Countless “aunties” were trapped at the $1,000 high of Bitcoin. By understanding the bear market’s pattern, I not only avoided losing money but also thrived in the falling market, making small profits by shorting at high points. One of my most glorious achievements was shorting Litecoin at 18 yuan and then going long at under 9 yuan, capturing both sides. Many people see the “yuan” and ask if I missed a character? That’s right! The price I’m talking about is in RMB! At that time, exchanges were still priced in RMB, and digital currency trading centers were in China, not Wall Street. Besides, concepts like “U-based” or “perpetual contracts” didn’t exist back then. Futures contracts were calculated in “coins,” meaning profits and losses were based on the token (no stablecoins yet), used as margin. Earnings weren’t immediately credited but settled after a week, a month, or a quarter, before withdrawal.

After this wave of nostalgia, let me talk about my “divine operation.” It happened on a weekend when Litecoin dropped from 20 yuan to around 17 yuan. Through sharp technical analysis, I judged this was the start of a new big drop, likely to break below 10 yuan. So I went all-in short on LTC between 17-18 yuan with 20X leverage (the maximum at the time). The next two days, Litecoin plummeted, obediently falling to around 8 yuan. I closed all my shorts at 9.5 yuan and went long on Litecoin. Just one night later, Litecoin rebounded to 16 yuan. That feeling was beyond “awesome,” almost like a dream. I closed all my longs at 14 yuan, calculated my total profit—about 60k Litecoin (which isn’t much in today’s crypto world; back then, having assets over 60k yuan in crypto would make me a V10 on Gate.io). I immediately hedged my LTC holdings and headed straight to a Mercedes-Benz dealership, ordering an E260. The whole process was just a simple price negotiation, with one requirement: “In-stock only!” After the futures settlement that week, I sold all my LTC at an average price above 14 yuan (thanks to the hedge), totaling just under 1 million RMB. Less than two weeks later, LTC dropped back to 10 yuan. I was glad I had “top-ticked” at a high.

Everyone knows what happened next. In the next bull run (2015-2017), LTC soared to a maximum of 2,400 RMB. At that price, I missed out on a seaside house. Later, LTC declined, and even now at $53, my little Fiat should have been replaced with a Cullinan. Looking back, it’s hard to bear, but I’m grateful that I’m still in good health. Over the years, I’ve been patting my thigh, and luckily, it’s never broken.

But after so many years, I’ve gradually come to terms with it. Although I still believe in digital currencies, I never thought they could truly “reach the moon,” nor did I think about what would happen three or five years from now. Maybe it was due to life circumstances; I didn’t think too far ahead. Now, I’d say my vision was too narrow. So, if you ask me whether you can make money, I’ll tell you: whether you can make money tonight depends on your luck. I don’t know. But whether you’ll end up wealthy depends on your cognition. The size of your vision and your long-term perspective determine your wealth. Folks, next time you ask in a live stream, “Is ETH a good buy now?” or “Does the host think it’s bullish or bearish?” ask yourself: are you thinking long-term enough? Do you genuinely believe in digital currencies for the long haul? Or are you just chasing short-term gambling thrills? If you’re optimistic long-term, why not “HODL 💎” now?

Folks, do you think Little God of Wealth has been hurt enough this time? Do you have even worse “selling the top” stories? Wipe your tears first, then leave a comment!

Everything else is just a story, only Little God of Wealth is truly using a thigh bone to support the candlestick chart. 😂
