U.S. Senator Warren writes to the U.S. SEC Chair, urging the SEC to investigate World Liberty Financial affiliated with the Trump family.

ME News Report, May 14 (UTC+8), U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren sent a letter to Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Paul Atkins urging the agency to investigate whether the Trump family’s World Liberty Financial has “misled investors or otherwise violated securities laws.” Warren cited the example of World Liberty Financial “recently deciding to use its own token (which investors have been explicitly prohibited from selling) as collateral to borrow $75 million,” and asked whether the SEC has evaluated if World Liberty Financial qualifies as a security under securities law. Warren requested a response by May 26. (Source: Foresight News)
