Ethereum Foundation discloses ETH Rangers security grant program results, with 17 researchers recovering over $5.8 million in six months

ME News Report, April 16 (UTC+8), the ETH Rangers program launched at the end of 2024 by the Ethereum Foundation in collaboration with Secureum, The Red Guild, and Security Alliance (SEAL) has concluded, providing six months of funding to 17 individuals engaged in public safety work. During this period, the related teams and individuals recovered or froze over $5.8 million in funds, reported or organized more than 785 vulnerabilities, client flaws, and PoCs, identified approximately 100 DPRK (North Korea) cybersecurity professionals infiltrating Web3 projects, handled over 36 security incidents, and hosted more than 80 security training sessions and workshops. The project outputs include multiple open-source security infrastructure such as a DeFi incident analysis platform, a suspicious account detection tool for GitHub, an execution client DoS testing framework, and the formal verification tool Kontrol optimization, aimed at developers and security research communities worldwide.
