Techub News reports that the Optimism development team OP Labs announced the achievement of reproducible benchmarking results. Through technical improvements, they reduced load test volatility from 42% to below 1%. The team used the open-source transaction generator contender to build testing tools that support performance verification on any EVM-compatible RPC endpoint.

This improvement eliminated testing variability caused by hardware types, network latency, and other factors through unified chain configuration, optimization of the testing tool contender, and internal op-benchmark measures.
The team stated that reproducible benchmarking is crucial for accurately measuring blockchain sustained throughput, identifying genuine performance bottlenecks, and helps avoid wasting time chasing false signals during software optimization.
