Honestly, speculation is not some magical gift, but a skill that can be developed. Many think that one or two successful trades are already a win, but that is a mistake. Anyone can hit the mark once, but the real game is to make the right moves consistently, day after day, regardless of whether you’re winning or losing.
I have always been more interested in the art of trading than the results of the last two trades. It’s like building a house — anyone can drive in one or two nails, but to build a solid house, you need a system, a plan, and the ability to execute it every day, in any weather.
That’s why speculation is an art of identifying trends that may develop. Of course, it’s impossible to predict the future exactly, but there are three key elements that every successful trade is built on: choosing the market, timing, and position management. Knowing one element is not enough; you need to understand all three.
Let’s start with the choice. The first is to select a market that will soon start to fluctuate. Don’t expect that the market you love will suddenly skyrocket and bring you millions. Looking at charts, you can notice an interesting pattern: the price fluctuates within a range and usually tends to one side. But here’s the important part — big moves happen only 3-4 times a year. This means that speculation is also an art of waiting. Successful traders know how not to rush, while beginners jump into the game at the first opportunity.
I always achieve the best results when I trade only in one or two markets. When you eliminate everything unnecessary and focus on the details of the chosen market, the results change dramatically. Specializing in this field truly brings great rewards. Thirty years ago, I heard a story about a smart investor from California who made millions trading a single stock — he called his broker only three times a year. This shows the power of a focused approach.
The second element is timing. Even if your tools indicate that a fluctuation is near, it doesn’t mean you should enter immediately. Timing is when the price begins to narrow down to a clear point and shows readiness to move. Many traders make the mistake of trying to buy at the lowest point, but experts say: don’t buy what’s falling! It’s better to wait until explosive growth begins, even if it’s not the absolute bottom.
The third element is management. Speculation is not just about choosing and entering, but also about how you manage your position and money. Traditional wisdom says don’t trade if you can’t afford to lose, but I’ll say more — if you’re trading with real money that worries you, you’ll be more cautious, and the results will be better. Managing trades is more important than managing capital because it’s about how long you stay in the game.
Knowing how to trade is one thing, but knowing how to make money is a whole other story. True art is a combination of choice, entry, and management. Super traders understand that it’s control and discipline that maximize profit, not luck.
The cryptocurrency market is actually less complicated than it seems at first glance. If you’re also interested in technical analysis and strategies, it’s worth paying attention to main assets like BTC, SOL, and SHIB. Speculation is a skill that can be honed by studying trends and applying discipline every day.
