Today I just realized that I have been using these symbols every day on the exchange without really understanding them. When looking at price charts or trading volume, you will see all the characters K, M, E, B, T but not everyone knows what they represent.
I just researched again so I’m sharing it with you all. 1K means 1k, and 1M is one million. Next is 1E which corresponds to 100 million. But the one I use most often is 1B, representing 1 billion. When viewing market capitalization, 1B is a quite common figure, especially when tracking major coins.
The final number is 1T, meaning 1 trillion. It’s rarely seen unless talking about Bitcoin or Ethereum. Knowing these units clearly helps me read data faster and avoid confusion. Anyone new to the exchange should remember this carefully.
