CiDi Games Roadmap Puts Pi Network Gaming Push in Focus

CiDi Games published a May 3 roadmap that places Pi Network deeper into blockchain gaming before Consensus 2026

The update arrived before Pi co-founders Chengdiao Fan and Nicolas Kokkalis spoke at the Miami event, which runs from May 5 to May 7.

CiDi Builds Around Browser Access

CiDi Games began trial operations in Q1 2026, but it has not shared player numbers, engagement data, or payment volume. That leaves the project without public evidence of adoption, even as its roadmap shows a clearer product direction.

The studio plans to use HTML5 games that run in browsers without downloads. The SDK is designed to support wallet connections, payments, and on-chain features through Pi login and wallet systems. This structure could lower entry barriers for casual users who do not want separate apps or gaming hardware.

The roadmap also expands the earlier Pi Network and CiDi Games partnership, which centered on an H5 browser platform for casual games. Pi Network Ventures, the $100 million fund linked to the ecosystem, backed CiDi as one of its early investments.

Pi Tests A Different Gaming Strategy

CiDi enters a crowded blockchain gaming market led by platforms such as Immutable, Ronin, and Sui. Immutable supports gas-free NFT activity on Ethereum Layer 2, while Ronin focuses on gaming infrastructure, wallets, and marketplace tools. Sui promotes speed and flexible asset design for developers.

Pi Network is taking a different route through mobile access and browser-based play. Its user base grew through mobile mining and social features, not through conventional gaming communities. However, rival networks often publish daily active users and transaction data, while Pi has not provided comparable figures.

That gap remains important because developers usually look for clear user activity before committing resources. CiDi’s roadmap may attract attention, but adoption will depend on real usage, monetization terms, and technical performance.

Consensus Timing Raises Market Attention

The roadmap landed during a busy period for Pi Network. Consensus 2026 begins on May 5, and Pi Network has set May 15 as the mandatory deadline for mainnet nodes to complete Protocol 23. The upgrade is expected to unlock native smart contract support, while non-compliant nodes will lose validation rights.

About 184.5 million PI tokens are scheduled to unlock in May. That places the roadmap, Consensus appearance, Protocol 23 deadline, and token unlocks in the same window.

CiDi’s plan gives Pi Network a clearer gaming narrative. Still, the project needs trial results, developer terms, and scalability details before the roadmap can be judged as more than an early-stage strategy.
