I just learned from Mexican sources that a serious event occurred in Jalisco. It seems that a large-scale operation was carried out against one of the most dangerous criminals in the region. The case involves Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, better known as El Mencho — the leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, which has been sought after by both Mexican and American law enforcement agencies for many years.
According to circulating information, the operation may have been a joint effort involving both countries. But what’s interesting is that there is no official confirmation at the government level yet. This creates some uncertainty in the situation.
Reactions to this news are already visible on the ground. Several states have reported car arson and road blockades. Additionally, messages are spreading that the cartel allegedly announced a monetary reward for attacks on law enforcement officers. This clearly indicates that the situation remains extremely tense.
El Mencho was one of the most wanted criminals not only in Mexico but also in the United States. His organization controlled significant territories and was involved in numerous serious crimes. Therefore, if reports of his elimination are confirmed, it will be a geopolitical event of regional importance.
But for now, everything remains in the realm of rumors and unconfirmed reports. We await official statements and a clearer picture of what actually happened in Jalisco.
