I just received a few questions about how to create a BTC wallet, so I want to share some experiences. Actually, creating a Bitcoin wallet isn't too complicated, it just depends on the type of wallet you choose.

There are three main approaches that I see people commonly use. The first is software wallets, which are convenient because you just need to download an app from the App Store or Google Play, follow the instructions, and then create a new wallet with a password. The most important thing is to record the recovery phrase and keep it safe — that’s the key to recovering your wallet if something happens.

The second is hardware wallets, which are much safer. You connect the device to your computer via USB, install the corresponding software, create a new wallet, and also record the recovery key. If you want to hold Bitcoin long-term, a hardware wallet is the best choice.

The third is online wallets on exchanges. This method is the fastest — just register an account, verify your identity, and then create a wallet directly on the platform. But I have to be honest, online wallets are not a good idea for long-term storage because the risks are quite high. The exchange could be hacked, or if the exchange shuts down, you lose access to your assets. Regulatory rules can also change at any time.

Regarding wallets that support multiple cryptocurrencies, I find Trust Wallet very reliable — it supports many ERC-20, BEP-20 tokens, and other blockchains. MetaMask is also popular within the Ethereum community. Additionally, there’s Exodus with a nice interface and easy to use.

Important security tip: protect your recovery phrase as if your life depends on it, never share it with anyone. Enable two-factor authentication if the wallet supports it. Always update your wallet software to the latest version to patch security vulnerabilities. If you are serious about keeping your Bitcoin safe, use a hardware wallet or paper wallet instead of leaving it on an exchange.
