Maersk will not resume the Hormuz route for now
ME News Report, April 8 (UTC+8), Maersk Shipping Company from Denmark announced on the 8th that the ceasefire declared by the United States and Iran does not sufficiently guarantee the safety of passage through the Strait of Hormuz. The company remains cautious about the current situation and has not resumed the shipping routes that were suspended last month. In a statement, Maersk said that although the two-week ceasefire between the US and Iran might create opportunities for navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, maritime security still faces uncertainties, and the conditions attached to the ceasefire need to be understood. The company stated it will continue to closely monitor the situation and will provide timely updates on any developments within the next few hours to days as the situation evolves. “Any decisions regarding the Strait of Hormuz are based on ongoing risk assessments, close monitoring of the security situation, and guidance from relevant authorities and partners.” (Source: ODAILY)
