Yesterday was intense in the derivatives market. According to CoinGlass, there was heavy liquidation: $826 million was liquidated in 24 hours. What drew attention is that most came from short positions ($661 million), while longs accounted for $166 million.

BTC was the most affected with $375 million in liquidations, followed by ETH with $184 million. Data from CoinGlass shows that nearly 200,000 traders were liquidated during this period. The largest individual liquidation occurred at Hyperliquid in the BTC-USD pair: $15.75 million at once.

These CoinGlass numbers indicate that many people were positioned aggressively. When the market moves quickly, those with excessive leverage end up getting liquidated. It’s the risk of trading derivatives without properly managing exposure.
BTC-3.11%
ETH-4.69%
