I saw on X that BONKfun experienced a major problem in March. Their website was taken over by attackers through social engineering— they acquired the domain and moved it elsewhere. The team said there was no breach in internal systems or code, but users were still affected.

What I understand is how they handled it. Around 30k was lost from customers, but instead of just stopping, BONKfun announced they would give 110% compensation to all affected users. It really seems like the team is serious about fixing the situation.

The recovery was quick— they regained control of the domain by March 18, and wallet services were back the next night. There was just an issue with some antivirus software still flagging the main domain, so they set up a backup domain that worked properly. For those who were inconvenienced, at least there was an option. It's interesting how they decided to over-compensate instead of just apologizing.
