TRON (TRON) initiates Proposal No. 106 voting, planning to adjust the SELFDESTRUCT mechanism to improve TVM compatibility
ME News message: On April 7 (UTC+8), the TRON network super representatives (SR) have initiated Proposal No. 106 and it has entered the committee voting stage. If the proposal is approved, it is expected to take effect at 20:00 on April 10 (Singapore time). The proposal plans to adjust how the SELFDESTRUCT instruction is executed and its cost: the contract will only be truly deleted if this instruction is called within the same transaction that creates the contract; in other cases, only the contract assets will be transferred and the contract itself will not be deleted. At the same time, the energy consumption of SELFDESTRUCT will be adjusted from 0 to 5000. If the proposal passes, the related mechanism will be further aligned with Ethereum, helping to improve TVM compatibility. TRON reminds developers who use SELFDESTRUCT to closely monitor the proposal’s progress and make adaptation preparations in advance. If node desynchronization occurs, it is recommended to first check whether the node has been upgraded to v4.8.1. (Source: ChainCatcher)
