CME March cryptocurrency contract daily average trading volume increased by 19%, with a notional value of $7.98 billion

ME News Report, April 2nd (UTC+8), the derivatives market Chicago Mercantile Exchange Group (CME Group) announced that the average daily trading volume of cryptocurrency contracts in March reached 210k contracts, with a notional value of $7.98 billion, an increase of 19%. Among them, the micro Bitcoin futures average daily contract volume increased by 6%, reaching 770,000 contracts; Ethereum futures average daily contract volume increased by 53%, reaching 19,000 contracts.
In addition, the overall contract daily average trading volume on the CME platform in March reached 41.1 million contracts, setting a new monthly high, a 33% year-over-year increase; the first quarter’s daily average trading volume reached 36.2 million contracts, setting a new quarterly high, a 22% year-over-year increase.
