ME News message, April 1 (UTC+8), Ethereum Foundation researcher Ladislaus von Daniels presented the zkAttester client solution at the EthCC[9] conference. He pointed out that the current Ethereum nodes are constrained by the computational burden of re-executing, whereas the zkAttester client allows validators to directly verify zero-knowledge proofs without re-executing all transactions in the block, which can significantly reduce the CPU performance requirements for nodes, enabling consumer-grade hardware to participate in network verification as well. In addition, after eliminating the re-execution step, the synchronization time for new nodes will be shortened from days or hours to the scale of minutes. Ladislaus said the technology closely aligns with the Ethereum “The Verge” stage objectives, aiming to replace heavy computational verification with ZK-SNARKs so that Ethereum can perform lightweight verification even on mobile devices, ultimately achieving large-scale scaling of L1 and a higher degree of decentralization.
