Samsung reported the largest quarterly operating profit any Korean company has ever posted: 107.4 trillion won. Two trading days later, its shares fell 4.4%.
On Monday KOSPI fell 3.6% to 6,384, SK hynix fell 4.5%, and foreigners net sold 2.02 trillion won. It was their 10th straight session of selling. In the month to early October, they sold 20.3 trillion won net, mostly SK hynix (12.0T) and Samsung (5.2T).
So “dip or reversal?” may be the wrong question. Profit isn’t the problem. Buyers are.
