According to a Reuters survey of economists, U.S. headline CPI is expected to fall year on year from 3.5% in June to 3.4% in July, while core CPI is expected to decline from 2.6% to 2.5%.
However, economists also forecast that July core services inflation will edge up 0.3% month on month, compared with no change in May and June.
Citigroup economists believe that several consecutive months of softer inflation data will rule out a September rate hike. Bank of America analysts said core
