The answer is that a government employee sold a list of crypto holders.
In France, holding cryptocurrency requires you to actively declare it and pay taxes.
According to French media outlet Le Parisien, a French tax office employee named Ghalia C. used her work privileges to access crypto holders’ tax filing records, including their names, addresses, phone numbers, portfolio values... and then sold them to criminal gangs.
