The September Federal Reserve meeting is the macro event I’m watching most closely. For me, the key question is not simply whether the Fed delivers a 25-basis-point rate hike. The bigger market-moving factors will be the dot plot, inflation outlook, future policy guidance and Powell’s press conference.
When an outcome is already heavily expected, the decision itself can become less important than what comes next.
My current view is cautiously bullish but highly defensive. I do not
