What Is the Difference Between Isolated and Cross Margin? Which Margin Mode Is Better for Managing Risk?
In crypto futures trading, margin mode, in addition to leverage, also affects account risk. Isolated and cross margin are two common options. The key difference is whether other funds in the account help absorb risk when a position incurs losses.
First, what is isolated margin?
Isolated margin allocates separate margin to a specific position. Typically, losses on that position are primarily covered by the margin assigned to it, and other funds in the account are not automatically used to ma

#BTC had a sharp pump in the market and nearly hit resistance, with the price moving sideways after that move. We have #NFP tomorrow, which can lead to either a rejection or a break above, so keep an eye on it.

I called a long on ETH at 2228 on the 30th; it’s now at 2426U, up nearly 200 points.
Back then, it had just been dumped to 2178, falling even harder than BTC, and the whole screen was full of people cursing ETH for being useless.
This past week, it hit resistance below 2300 three times—2309, 2300, and 2301—and each time it was just a little short, only to get pushed back down. Quite a few guys couldn’t hold on and got out near their entry price.
This time it finally broke through. The first target at 2350 was hit, so I took half off and pocketed the gains. The rest topped out at 2443, just 7 p

BTC was called at $77,800 on the 30th, and now it’s at $80,600—a $2,800 gain per coin.
You guys remember what things were like the day I called it, right? Binance had just been hacked for $6.3 billion, everyone was yelling about a crash, and BTC had just plunged to $76,400.
What Dachao said back then was: a dip caused by an unexpected event gets filled quickly.
It wasn’t like we never got spooked in between. During election week, it plunged to $75,700 again, leaving me down over $1,000 on paper. Plenty of people couldn’t hold on and got out. I never moved the $74,800 stop-loss, and just rode i

November 5, 2026 (Thursday) ETH Trading Plan for Today (based on the current range of approximately $2,420–$2,440)
Core idea (neutral to slightly bullish; cautious after the rebound)
ETH rebounded rapidly from a low near $2,220 to around $2,430, moving back above some medium- and short-term moving averages, but daily momentum still needs further confirmation. Today, prioritize watching for a stall at higher levels to go short, or consider going long after a pullback to support. Keep positions light.
Specific trading directions
1. Short the rebound at higher levels (primary strategy)

What Is Maximum Drawdown? Why Can an Account Still Face Huge Risks After Making a Lot of Money?
In cryptocurrency trading, looking only at how much an account ultimately earned can easily obscure how much risk it faced along the way. Even an account that once generated very high returns may have experienced a severe drawdown and could even struggle to recover due to poor fund management. Maximum drawdown is an important metric for measuring this risk.
First, what is maximum drawdown?
Maximum drawdown is the largest percentage decline in an account’s net value from a peak to a subsequent low du

What Is Forced Liquidation? Why Can a Small Move in the Opposite Direction Put an Account at Risk of Liquidation?
In crypto futures trading, many traders focus on how much the price can rise, but overlook how much of a move in the opposite direction their account can withstand. When margin is insufficient to meet the exchange’s maintenance margin requirements, the platform may automatically close part or all of a position. This is forced liquidation.
First, why does forced liquidation happen?
After a position is opened, a price move in the opposite direction causes unrealized losses, reducing

Machi Big Brother is making a killing again!
He’s not only going long but also adding to his position, increasing from over 2,000 contracts to nearly 6,700 with 25x leverage. His latest average entry price is 2366, and unrealized gains have topped $460k, but his liquidation price has also been pushed up to 2391.
Big Brother is charging ahead with total confidence, but I’m actually not very optimistic about this move in the short term. I recommend positioning for shorts near 2450.
The reason is simple:
This rebound after the election results came in looks more like a short squeeze following the

Gate has officially launched Proof of Security, or PoSEC, extending beyond Proof of Reserves by disclosing the distribution of cold-storage and hot-wallet assets and introducing a cold storage coverage ratio to measure protection under extreme-risk scenarios. Gate’s latest cold storage coverage ratio stands at 104.58%, with 88.26% of assets in cold storage and 11.74% in hot wallets. A coverage ratio of at least 100% means cold-storage assets alone would still be sufficient to cover all user assets even if hot-wallet assets were fully lost. Exchange security is not only about whether reserves are sufficient, but also how assets are stored and protected under extreme conditions. Could cold storage coverage become a new industry standard?[👉 Learn more](https://gate.com/proof-of-security)
