Circle’s CCTP cross-chain process burns USDC on the source chain, then mints it on the destination chain. If you only watch the mint on the destination chain, you may mistake a cross-chain transfer for newly added funds.
When I see this kind of alert, I first open the transaction records, verify the chains and contracts, and then look for the corresponding burn on the source chain. If it’s confirmed to be the same CCTP transfer, the mint on the destination chain cannot be counted alone as newly add
