In a bear market, even good news is bad news.
#U.S. July CPI and PPI data will be released this week.
All four CPI indicators met expectations, coming in neither above nor below forecasts.
Compared with the previous readings, the year-over-year figures are of limited significance, especially the non-seasonally adjusted data.
Both headline CPI month-over-month and core CPI month-over-month came in higher than the previous readings, likely as a result of rising oil prices in July. However, the increases were in line with expectations.
It’s just that in a bear market, even good news is bad news.
