A Full Moon, A Failed Vote, and Why I Am Still Bullish After CLARITY
Last night I was watching the full moon with my family, and at the same time watching the Senate live count on my phone. At 02 15 UTC plus 8, the CLARITY Act procedural vote came in. 49 to 50. Failed.
Everyone in the comments was shouting bearish. I think the opposite. Let me explain why this 49-50 failure is actually a gift for traders like us on Gate.
First, what really happened in Washington

Honestly, I’m surprised this trade has survived until now. A few days ago, watching the chart in the early hours, the area above $HOME was firmly capped; every rebound fell just short, and volume couldn’t keep up. I knew the bears weren’t done yet. I entered a short directly around 0.00899. The chop in between made me want to close, but I told myself: hold as long as the stop hasn’t been breached.

The market is waited out, and profits are held onto.

When I checked the chart after lunch, 0.00523 had delivered the answer: +2967.66% secured. Closed 80% first, and protected the remaining 20%

Held the short position until now, and the $XRP sell-off has delivered the payoff. My earlier judgment was straightforward: it failed to break the previous high, and the rebound came on declining volume, showing that selling pressure overhead was still present, so I maintained a bearish bias.

There was a wick in between, nearly hitting the protection level, but I did not change my view because of a single wick. After breaking below the key level and confirming the retest, the unrealized profit expanded to +847.48%; I’m taking 80% off the table here.
