November 5, 2026 (Thursday) ETH Trading Plan for Today (based on the current range of approximately $2,420–$2,440)
Core idea (neutral to slightly bullish; cautious after the rebound)
ETH rebounded rapidly from a low near $2,220 to around $2,430, moving back above some medium- and short-term moving averages, but daily momentum still needs further confirmation. Today, prioritize watching for a stall at higher levels to go short, or consider going long after a pullback to support. Keep positions light.
Specific trading directions
1. Short the rebound at higher levels (primary strategy)

Things are moving exactly as expected.
Sweep of the lows + bullish divs, right into the 200d EMA, and the elections are now behind us.
Feeling optimistic about the future.
Could see some more chop around here, but expecting new all-time highs for $BTC in 2027.

What Is the Sharpe Ratio? How Can You Measure Whether a Trading Strategy’s Returns Are Worth the Risk?
In cryptocurrency trading, a high rate of return does not necessarily mean a strategy is good. If a strategy generates high returns but comes with sharp volatility and large drawdowns, we need to further assess whether those returns are worth the corresponding risk. The Sharpe ratio is one tool that can help answer this question.
First, what is the Sharpe ratio?
The Sharpe ratio measures the excess return earned by a portfolio or trading strategy per unit of volatility risk. Generally, the hi

What is rolling backtesting? Why is continuously updating the test window more informative than testing just one historical period?
In cryptocurrency trading, a strategy may perform well only during a certain period of historical market data, yet fail to adapt to subsequent market changes. Testing only one fixed period can overlook how the strategy performs under different conditions. Rolling backtesting helps traders evaluate a strategy’s stability more comprehensively by continually updating the test window.
First, what is rolling backtesting?

Five price levels, nineteen hours, stair-stepping all the way down.
11-04 18:00 touched 79.28; at 19:00, it closed at 69.61.
That hour saw 84.46 million contracts dumped—the second-largest candle of the day.
At 22:00, another 88.25 million contracts came in, sending it from 72.22 down to 64.76.
Three rebounds, with highs of 75.39, 68.69, and 64.78—each lower than the last.
The third time, it couldn’t even hold 65, then kept sliding lower through today.
24-hour volume is $510 million, making it the busiest in this pool.

What Is Liquidation? Why Can a Small Move in the Opposite Direction Put an Account at Risk of Liquidation?
In crypto futures trading, many traders focus on how much the price could rise, but overlook how much of a move in the opposite direction their account can withstand. When margin is insufficient to meet the exchange’s maintenance margin requirements, the platform may automatically close part or all of a position. This is liquidation.
First, why does liquidation happen?
After opening a position, a move in the opposite direction causes unrealized losses, reducing account equity. If equity f

Machi Big Brother is making a killing again!
He’s not only going long but also adding to his position, using 25x leverage to build from over 2,000 contracts to nearly 6,700. His latest average entry price is 2366, and his unrealized profit has surged past $460k, but his liquidation price has also been pushed up to 2391.
Big Brother is charging ahead with full confidence, but I’m actually not very bullish on this move in the short term. I recommend positioning for shorts around 2450.
The reasoning is simple:
This rebound after the election results came in looks more like a short squeeze followi

One Login. One Story. One Witness Number.
Crypto is often measured through numbers — price, volume, profit, loss, deposits, trades, and market movements.
But behind every number, there is a story.
That is what makes Gate’s One Gate Witness Program interesting to me. It gives verified Gate users an opportunity to share their own experiences with Gate without needing to make a deposit or place a trade.
You simply log in, choose a theme, share a valid personal moment, and receive your own unique Witness Number.
And today, I became part of that story.

LG Uplus: Expanding Margins Despite Top-Line Headwinds
The News: LG Uplus posted an 84% surge in Q3 operating profit, reaching 297.6 billion Won, even as its overall revenue saw a dip. The stock surged 9.11% on the news.
The 9.11% surge in LG Uplus shares is a classic market reaction to a "quality earnings" beat. The telecom sector is traditionally mature and highly competitive. The fact that operating profit jumped 84% despite a decline in revenue tells a compelling story about cost control, debt management, and a shift toward higher-margin businesses.
LG Uplus has been aggressively pushing i

“Down 1.93%, no big deal.”
I’ve heard that three times today. I’ll start with that candle.
11-04 20:00, 12146 contracts, price slammed from 296.84 to 278.59.
“Just a wick.”
Wicks don’t keep printing ten in a row.
From 293.62 at 05:00, not a single candle touched 292 again for nine hours.
The highs kept falling, down 0.81 per hour—not fast, but it never stopped.
“Surely it’ll bounce eventually.”
It bounced to 296.75 and then failed—that was at 23:00 last night.
Here’s the catch: above 290, the orders are from people who didn’t get out. Anyone who buys in gets stuck holding the bag.

Gate has officially launched Proof of Security, or PoSEC, extending beyond Proof of Reserves by disclosing the distribution of cold-storage and hot-wallet assets and introducing a cold storage coverage ratio to measure protection under extreme-risk scenarios. Gate’s latest cold storage coverage ratio stands at 104.58%, with 88.26% of assets in cold storage and 11.74% in hot wallets. A coverage ratio of at least 100% means cold-storage assets alone would still be sufficient to cover all user assets even if hot-wallet assets were fully lost. Exchange security is not only about whether reserves are sufficient, but also how assets are stored and protected under extreme conditions. Could cold storage coverage become a new industry standard?[👉 Learn more](https://gate.com/proof-of-security)
