This breakout in silver is most likely a false breakout. It closed at 51.85 on Friday, up 4.1% for the day. It certainly looks impressive, but the “quality” of that gain is questionable. The most obvious issue is volume: weekend trading volume was only about 30% of weekday levels, and market depth was clearly much thinner.
