Reddio is a high-performance hardware Layer 2 network compatible with ETHereum, which achieves unparalleled computational scale and Ethereum-level security by utilizing zero-knowledge technology. Reddio’s API is fully compatible with Ethereum, and all Smart Contracts on Ethereum can be seamlessly implemented on Reddio.

Currently, Reddio is in the testing phase and available for experimentation.

01、Core Competitiveness

The official documentation of Reddio shows that it provides a series of key enhancement features. It is worth noting that compared to the current EVM L2s or zkEVM L2s, it achieves higher performance.

First.

The Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) is a decentralized virtual environment on the Ethereum blockchain for executing smart contracts and code. However, the standard EVM processes transactions and smart contracts sequentially, which can lead to congestion and increased costs when there is high volume. To address this issue, Reddio has developed an advanced iteration called the Supplemented EVM, which utilizes concepts outlined in the Block-STM paper to enhance scalability and performance.

Transactions are processed linearly one by one. With the increase of volume, this method may lead to latency and higher costs, just like having only one checkout counter in intermittent stores. Reddio’s parallel processing allows transactions and smart contracts to be processed simultaneously, reducing waiting time and improving network efficiency. This is similar to having multiple checkout counters that can serve more customers at the same time.

It is worth mentioning that Reddio has partnered with the National University of Singapore to convert the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) opcodes to CUDA (a hardware computing platform and API model created by NVIDIA) through the CuEVM project, greatly improving performance. CUDA enables developers to use NVIDIA GPUs for general-purpose processing, providing massive parallelism and high-performance computing. This optimization significantly enhances the execution efficiency of smart contracts, making Reddio a more efficient and scalable Layer2 solution.

Secondly, the Virtual Machine EVM has greater advantages, which are specifically manifested as:

  • Enhanced scalability: By handling transactions and smart contracts more efficiently, Reddio increases the network’s throughput.

  • Improve Performance: Reducing latency can bring about a smoother and faster user experience.

  • Enhanced security: By a large amount of network congestion, Reddio dropped the potential risks of vulnerabilities during high traffic periods.

—Broader application support: the network can handle a wider range of applications and diverse scenarios.

Advanced modular sequencer SDK functionality

Global Customization: The modular sequencer SDK simplifies blockchain development, builds web services, and allows easy integration of various modules, such as multiple Virtual Machines (VM) and Data Availability (DA) layers.

Multiple Virtual Machine and DA support: The sequencer out-of-the-box supports EVM, CairoVM, designed to support various VMs, including but not limited to Solana Virtual Machine (SVM), zkWASM, RISC0 and MoveVM, and there will be no resource conflicts. Multiple DA layer integrations such as Ethereum, Avail, Celestia, etc.

Special L2 Consensus: The unique L2 Consensus protocol of modular sequencer SDK is designed for high throughput, inheriting the security and permissionless features of L1. It supports mainstream Consensus protocols such as PoW, PoS, PBFT, dBFT, HotStuff, etc. Developers can also customize their own Consensus protocol to achieve higher performance and customization.

High Transaction Throughput: The sequencer provides high transaction throughput (TPS) data under various test conditions and hardware settings.

Layer 3 Application Chain Compatibility: For projects where L2 cannot meet specific requirements, custom sequencers help develop custom L3 AppChains to improve real-time performance and throughput required by RTT games and other applications.

Interoperability across dApps: The sequencer ensures low latency and lower gas costs for cross-dApp interactions, enabling transactions such as Decentralized Finance dApp triggering actions in full-chain games, demonstrating seamless interoperability on high-end sequencers.

In conclusion, Reddio’s modular sequencer SDK supports full EVM bytecode compatibility and Ethereum RPC API, making it easy to integrate with various Ethereum tools and research innovations. This ensures the compatibility and ease of use of applications, development tools, Wallet, analysis, and indexing services.

Meanwhile, Reddio’s modular sequencer SDK also uses the Yu blockchain framework, which is a highly customizable Layer 2 Native modular blockchain framework developed by the Reddio team using Golang. The framework provides developers with a development experience similar to Web API, making it easier for developers to get started with blockchain development.

02, Innovative L2 and L3 AppChain sorting framework

A few months ago, Reddio recently announced its innovative Layer 2 (L2) and Layer 3 (L3) AppChain sorting framework Itachi officially Open Source, which is another important move by the team to transparency and community-driven innovation.

Itachi is developed based on the modular Yu framework, written in Golang by the Reddio team, providing developers with great flexibility and customization capabilities, and becoming an important advancement in blockchain technology. Its main features include modular customization, support for multiple Virtual Machines (VM) and Data Availability (DA), advanced Prover and MEV resistance, special L2 Consensus, high performance, Layer 3 AppChain compatibility, and interoperability across dApps.

The Itachi framework has been recognized by many leaders in the industry, such as Eli Ben-Sasson, CEO of StarkWare, who said that Itachi represents a major leap forward for the Decentralization ecosystem, and its Open Source nature and high-performance capabilities align with the vision of efficiently and securely scaling blockchain technology.

Reddio actively listens to developer feedback, and many game companies and Dex companies are testing Itachi for their AppChain launch and exploring collaboration opportunities. It is reported that Itachi’s source code is now Open Source on GitHub, encouraging global developers to contribute and expand its functionality. This Open Source initiative is expected to promote innovation and further the development of the Blockchain industry.

Summary

Reddio’s Itachi, as a high-performance L2 and L3 AppChain sorting framework, is not only a significant innovation in blockchain technology, but also a key infrastructure for connecting different blockchain ecosystems. Itachi, through its modular design, support for multiple Virtual Machines, powerful resistance to MEV, and high performance, collectively builds an extremely flexible and scalable development environment. It not only provides strong support for Decentralization applications, but also significantly enhances the scalability and security of blockchain.

This innovation by Reddio is expected to become an important bridge connecting multiple EVM-compatible blockchain ecosystems while maintaining Ethereum-level security.

In the future, with the further development of Itachi and the extensive participation of the community, it is expected to play an important role in promoting the advancement and application of blockchain technology, showing broad development prospects and huge imaginative space. Of course, this process is also full of challenges, requiring continuous innovation and optimization.
