PANews July 22, according to Reuters, prediction market platform Polymarket says it will challenge the decision by France’s national gambling regulator (ANJ) to block its website through French legal procedures. The ANJ last week ordered operators to block Polymarket, citing the risk that it could lead to users suffering major losses from gambling and that some contracts may involve manipulation. The report said that global regulators are tightening their oversight of prediction markets. In May this year, the Spanish government temporarily banned Polymarket and its peer Kalshi from operating locally; in June, the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) also released a proposed rule for the prediction market industry.
