As the first among the US “Magnificent Seven” to disclose its Q2 results after Wednesday’s close, Tesla led the charge, with capital showing a sharp split between aggressive pre-emptive positioning and defensive risk-avoidance during the session.
Tesla (TSLA) received early long-side fund positioning during trading, and its performance over the month was significantly stronger than the broader market.
Market attention on Tesla is highly concentrated on the progress of its Robotaxi commercialization rollout, the advancement of Full Self-Driving (FSD) licensing, and its Q2 auto business gross margin; while Google (GOOGL) bears the task of validating the AI monetization capability of its cloud business (Google Cloud) and the level of spending by its advertising customers.
Wall Street analysts pointed out that after mega-cap tech stocks in the broader market experienced a pullback from high levels earlier, whether these two giants can deliver a strong start to the large-tech earnings season will directly determine whether the entire “Magnificent Seven” cluster—and even the S&P 500 index—can regain rebound momentum.
