Market prediction platform Kalshi has applied to the US CFTC to launch perpetual futures linked to gold

PANews July 21日消息, according to Bloomberg, prediction market platform Kalshi has applied to the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to expand its perpetual contracts to precious metals such as gold, silver, and platinum, in order to introduce this long-standing product—primarily used for crypto assets—into the traditional commodities market. The contract is a leveraged perpetual futures contract with no expiration date. It will initially provide trading for five days per week, 24 hours per day, aligned with the corresponding spot market’s hours, and will later assess whether to extend trading to 7×24 hours. The CFTC will decide within 45 days whether to approve the product. Kalshi said that in addition to precious metals, demand for perpetual contracts in other asset classes such as foreign exchange and equities is also rising, and the company is actively evaluating related expansion directions.
