📊 Gate Defied the Market Downturn with Strong Q2 Growth Across Trading, Liquidity, and Tokenomics

While CoinGecko's Q2 2026 Crypto Industry Report showed a challenging quarter for the broader digital asset market—with the total cryptocurrency market capitalization declining 12.6% and centralized exchange (CEX) spot trading volume falling 27.9%—Gate delivered impressive performance by expanding its market position across multiple key indicators.

Gate's spot market share increased significantly from 6.61% in Q1 to 8.01% in Q2, demonstrating that the platform continued attracting traders and capturing liquidity despite weaker industry-wide trading activity. This growth highlights increasing user confidence, deeper liquidity, and Gate's strengthening position among the world's leading cryptocurrency exchanges.

Institutional participation also reached another milestone. According to CryptoQuant, Gate ranked #1 globally in average institutional trade size across four major markets: BTC Spot, BTC Perpetual, ETH Spot, and ETH Perpetual. This achievement reflects growing trust from professional and institutional investors while reinforcing Gate's reputation as a preferred venue for high-volume trading.

Gate also achieved remarkable success in the prediction market sector. During the FIFA World Cup, Gate Polymarket generated more than $100 million in weekly trading volume, ranking first among all Polymarket partner channels. This performance showcased the platform's ability to capitalize on major global events while expanding user engagement and ecosystem activity.

Meanwhile, Gate Token (GT) continued strengthening its long-term tokenomics through another significant quarterly burn.

During Q2, 2.57 million GT were permanently removed from circulation, bringing the cumulative burn to more than 190 million GT—approximately 63% of the original total supply—with a cumulative value exceeding $1.31 billion.

This ongoing deflationary strategy reinforces GT's long-term scarcity and demonstrates Gate's continued commitment to building sustainable value for its ecosystem.

In a quarter where much of the crypto industry faced declining activity, Gate continued moving forward by strengthening market share, institutional participation, ecosystem growth, trading depth, and tokenomics.
