Retail investor: I looked into selling options but the premiums get taxed as income. Kills the whole thing.


Me: So your plan is to make LESS money... to avoid paying tax on more money?
Retail investor: ...when you say it like that.
Me: Taxes are a toll, not a wall. You still keep the majority of every premium. Nobody ever got rich turning down income because a cut goes to the IRS.
Retail investor: But there's gotta be a smarter way to structure it.
Me: There is. My base NEVER sells... those gains compound untaxed for decades. The premium is the taxable layer, & I offset chunks of it harvesting losses when the market dips... rolling contracts down & out.
Retail investor: So you manage the taxes instead of avoiding the income?
Me: The wealthy don't dodge income... they structure it. (& talk to your CPA on the details.)
Never turn down a dollar because 70 cents of it is yours...
