PANews July 18, citing Bitcoin News: U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren urged President Trump to voluntarily disclose his cryptocurrency income and holdings from January 1 to July 15, requiring him to complete it by July 23. In a letter dated July 16, the senior member of the Senate Banking Committee said that Congress cannot fairly debate cryptocurrency legislation when the president’s financial exposure to the industry has been disclosed only partially.

The request comes as the Senate considers the CLARITY Act. Warren said lawmakers need the most up-to-date picture of their crypto interests before moving forward with legislation that could directly affect the value of Trump’s holdings. Warren said the concern is not only that the president holds digital assets, but also that the legislation Congress is reviewing may substantially benefit companies and investments related to the president, while those benefits are only partially disclosed.
