$ETH just gave us a wild ride.

Ethereum is sitting at $1,842.06 right now, up 1.34% on the day. But that number doesn't tell the whole story.

A little while back, ETH tapped a high of $1,870.95, then got smacked down hard, dropping all the way to $1,804.05. That's a swing of almost $67 in a short window. Classic crypto chaos.

After that dip, buyers stepped back in and pushed price back up into the $1,840s, where it's been grinding sideways since, testing resistance near $1,857 a few times but not quite breaking through.

Here's the wider picture though, and this is where it gets interesting:
- Today: down slightly, -0.27%
- 7 days: up 0.88%
- 30 days: up a solid 9.29%
- 90 days: down 19.77%
- 180 days: down 42.70%
- 1 year: down 48.44%

So zoom out and ETH is still down almost half from a year ago, even with this recent bounce. The last 30 days show some real strength coming back though, and that's worth watching.

24 hour volume sits at 69.70K ETH, with turnover around 127.88 million USDT, so there's still solid activity moving through this pair.

Right now feels like a battle between short term recovery and long term downtrend. The next few days on the chart will tell us which side is winning.
