Everyone knows this: even if Layer 2 is faster and cheaper, when you compare it to the mainnet it always feels like it’s missing something. Personally, I usually route smaller trades through Layer 2. After all, it’s airdrop season right now, and the “loot farming” crowd is competing like they’re going to work—an points system makes people think about even their sleep schedule, just so they remember to check in and sign in. But if it’s a somewhat larger transaction or something that isn’t urgent, I’ll still switch back to the mainnet and just wait calmly for dozens of confirmations, even if it means paying a bit more gas. Put simply, finality can’t be made up for by experience alone—anyone who’s gone through a rollback probably understands.
