PANews July 18 news, citing Cointelegraph: Earlier this year, Consensys brought in a software developer through a “reputable third-party service provider.” After an investigation, it was found that the developer is associated with North Korea. The developer, using the alias Tyler Knapp, had about one month of access within Consensys systems. Consensys’ chief legal counsel, Matt Corva, said the developer was not a Consensys employee, but worked with the company in a consulting capacity. After the threat was identified, Consensys immediately terminated the access and launched a comprehensive investigation, confirming that no assets or data were stolen, no malicious code was deployed, and user security was not affected. Consensys said it will re-evaluate its practice of outsourcing engineering and development work.
