I just scrolled through Twitter for a bit, and it’s all social mining and fan tokens—hot topics are changing faster than I switch my seasonal clothes. To be honest, seeing everyone rush in like a flock, my first reaction isn’t excitement—it’s a little panic. Attention seems to have become a new kind of mining rig, but whether what you “mine” is real value or just empty air—who can say for sure?

My approach now is: when a new hotspot rolls around, don’t jump in right away. Give yourself a cooling-off period. For example, first read the project’s documentation, check whether there are obvious traps in the tokenomics, and then calculate whether the opportunity cost of your time is actually worth it. Sometimes it feels like the whole “attention is mining” thing is really just reaping your anxiety—making you feel like you’ll lose out if you don’t participate. I’d rather miss a few trends than be repeatedly “shaved”—and honestly, my wallet can’t handle all this back-and-forth.

At the end of the day, what I fear most isn’t losing money, but losing time—then realizing I only ended up adding fuel to someone else’s traffic pool. So I’ll keep my tail between my legs and do some longer-term homework. At least then I can sleep more soundly.
