Some people ask whether things like Bazi (eight characters) and Ziwei Dou Shu are reliable. In essence, these are explanation frameworks built from historical experience-based summaries. They can be insightful, but they are not conclusions and not scientifically verified predictive models. The limitations of these experiential systems include: limited sample sizes, difficulty validating and iterating, easily overlooking changes in variables, easily creating causal illusions, and being hard to scale and replicate. Therefore, when you face a complex, changing world—especially issues like investing, business, and career choices—the truly effective approach requires data validation, continuous iteration, and dynamic adjustment.
